Run for Clean Air

This May East Tennessee Clean Fuels is hosting the 9th annual Run for Clean Air 5k run/walk. This all-ages family event is focused around a run through our beautiful course adjacent to the Tennessee River. Attendees can compete, enjoy the outdoors, learn about alternative fuels, win race awards, and receive jaw-droppingly cool door prizes! This year the Run for Clean Air will take place on May 12, 2012 at 2300 Cherokee Blvd. in Sequoyah Hills Park from 7:30am until 12:00pm. We hope to see you there!

Long time fan, first time write in. I have been reading your column for years. There’s simply no better advocate for the parasitic lifestyle than you. Your piece on dorsal shield itch was uncompromising. This brings me to my big question – with all of your great bloodsucking advice over the years why does it seem you are advocating for humans at this year’s EarthFest? Don’t tell your loyal fans you have a taste for the mammalian way of life now. Say it ain’t so Latch.

White House Highlights David Bolt as a “Champion of Change” for his Efforts to Advance Corporate Environmental Sustainability

WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, April 12th, David Bolt will be one of eight

individuals honored at the White House as Champions of Change for demonstrating

that corporate environmental leadership makes sense, both for business and for

American communities.

“Cutting waste, reducing energy use and operating more sustainably translates to less

pollution and lower utility bills for businesses across the country,” said Nancy Sutley,

Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. “The leaders we’ve

selected as Champions of Change are proving that sustainable practices work for

companies’ bottom lines, and work for the health of American communities.”

On a beautiful day she came our way, yes Kelly Crayfish came out to play.

A life underwater was not for her,  so many things to see, the pine, the fir.

As she crawled to shore much to her surprise, no friendly faces to greet, just the buzzing of flies.

No big trees loomed over, no shrubs on the ground, just brown open land, the green all cut down.

No roots to hold soil, no leaves to clean air, just loose plots of earth left open, left bare.

A few candy wrappers were all she could see, a couple of bottles, old cans, debris.

The flies buzzed so loud she turned her tail, but there it was, a sight, a smell.
